PGS graphite sheet awarded 2nd place at recent “Product of the Year 2016” readers’ poll from Elektronik
Munich, March 2016 - The PGS graphite sheet from Panasonic Automotive & Industrial Systems has recently been awarded 2nd place in the category “Electromechanical” in the “Product of the Year 2016” readers’ poll from German electronics magazine Elektronik. It is the only thermal management solution recognised with an award at the poll.
Comments Alfred Goldbacher, Editor at Elektronik: “We preselected Panasonic’s innovative PGS graphite sheet for our readers’ poll because we think it is a very promising and versatile thermal management solution.”
Alexander Hoch, Team Leader Circuit Components, Product Marketing Departement at Panasonic Automotive & Industrial Systems remarks: “We are honoured to accept this award from Elektronik and are very happy we were able to convince the panel of judges and the readers of Elektronik of this great product and it’s extremely high quality and flexibility.”
Already in its 18th year, the “Product of the Year Readers Poll” by German electronics magazine Elektronik and its web-portal elektroniknet.de recognises the most innovative and future-orientated products out of all new product announcements from the previous year. The editorial team of Elektronik preselects the best 111 products and puts them into eleven categories. From this selection the readers are asked to vote for their respective favourites.
The Pyrolytic Highly Oriented Graphite Sheet (PGS) is the thinnest thermal solution in the world with an industry leading thermal conductivity of up to 1950 W/m K which is 5 times higher than common materials like copper. Through its flexibility and ability to be cut in any shape, it enables new solutions for thermal management challenges where space and weight restrictions are critical and conventional solutions are not feasible. The PGS graphite sheet consists of a 2D carbon matrix with a thickness of only 10 µm to 200 µm, which effectively disperses and transfers heat, protecting sensitive electronics from damage.
